Carvera
The desktop machine that made automatic tool changes normal: six tools, auto probing and a built-in laser.
The closest thing to a magic box in desktop CNC. You press go and it changes its own bits.
The Carvera’s six-tool changer is the feature that sells it, and it deserves to. Roughing, finishing, chamfering and engraving all happen without you touching the machine — plus wireless probing, a built-in laser and integrated dust extraction. For small parts it’s the most hands-off workflow on this list.
The limit is the 200 W spindle. It cuts aluminum well with small tools, but it’s a precise machine, not a powerful one, and the bit collars keep you mostly in 1/8-inch tooling. If your parts fit in the envelope, it’s a joy.

What I like
- True 6-tool automatic changer
- Auto probing and leveling
- Built-in laser and dust extraction
- Under 0.01 mm runout
What I'd watch for
- 200 W spindle limits how fast you can remove material
- Proprietary bit collars, mostly 1/8-inch tools
- Expensive at list price
